Lismore Circus - Proposal Plan
A focal point for the northern sector of the neighbourhood, the circus is the vestige of the Victorian street pattern. Traversed by various pedestrian routes, it remains little used because it is considered unsafe. Green areas will be extended beyond the circus as ‘tongues’ to connect the various estates. Safe, well-lit routes through the circus will be created along with the areas for the elderly, mothers with toddlers and an adventure landscape for children. Derelict shops on one side will be demolished, opening up views to adjoining streets and creating a small paved area in front of existing shops.
